ICGS School Board Committees 

The ICGS School Board is always looking for parents and parishioners to join its (4) committees. Those com-mittees are: 

• Strategic Plan 
• Advancement & Development 
• Finance, Technology, & Legislative 
• Nominating & Faith Formation 

Committees are comprised of one or two School Board members and ideally 4-5 committee members. Com-mittees meet in August, October, December, March, and June. The following is a description of each committee: 

Strategic Plan

Focus is on annually reviewing and updating Strategic Plan. 

Committee Responsibilities: 

• Assist in reviewing the 5 Year Strategic Plan 
• Update Strategic Plan as necessary 

Advancement & Development

Focus is on academic environment, program enhancement, marketing, Annual Appeal, Parents’ Club Liaison (one Parents’ Club representative to attend board meetings). 

Committee Responsibilities: 

• Assist in recommendations for changes in academic environment (upgrading classrooms, identifying areas which can be upgraded) 
• Annual facility review as directed by 5 Year Strategic Plan (ensure that facilities are on par with or superior to those of public and private grade schools in surrounding community) 
• Work with Marketing Coordinator to ensure that marketing plan is being followed and look for opportunities to upgrade 
• Recommend projects/areas which can be impacted by Annual Appeal 
• Work with Parents’ Club to ensure that Parents’ Club and School Board are working together 

Finance, Technology, & Legislative 

Focus is on managing the financial and technology components of the 5 Year Strategic Plan as well as identifying any legislative areas which may affect ICGS. 

Committee Responsibilities: 

• Identify potential factors that may impact the financial component of the 5 Year Strategic Plan and assist in an-nual review of financials 
• Identify potential factors that may impact the technological component of the 5 Year Strategic Plan and assist in annual review of technology 
• Research and identify new technologies that may assist teachers and staff 

Nominating and Faith Formation

Focus is on school board member and committee applications, classroom faith formation, and Christian service formation. 

Committee responsibilities: 

• Assist in recruiting people from diverse backgrounds and skill sets to be part of board and committees 
• Identify areas where teachers can receive appropriate training in catechesis 
• Develop and help to promote programs that extend faith education and participation among students, faculty, families, and the wider IC community 
• Ensure that ICGS prominently displays a variety of symbols representing its core Catholic values both in school and in significant forms of communication.
