By participating in Tech Club, you will be trained to become a “Certified Tech Assistant” (or CTA for short). As a CTA, you will be trained to assist teachers in moving laptop carts and pass out/ collect the laptops during classroom use. You will learn the proper way to plug the laptops into the carts and some basic troubleshooting strategies to solve problems that arise.
Most weeks, you will assist with the basic maintenance of ICGS computers. The last meeting of every month will be a check-in meeting to discuss how things are going, answer questions that arise, and make a plan for next month.
Throughout the year, you will be called upon to assist your teachers and classes with their technology use. This may include computers, ipads, document cameras, SMARTboards, and more. You may be asked to help set up or troubleshoot the devices, move the laptop carts. You will become the go-to person for technology in your classes! Your service will be recognized at the end of the year, and Father Tom will be made aware of your contribution to the school.
In order to participate, the first three meetings (dates TBA) are mandatory. This is when you will be trained to become a Tech Assistant. If you are unable to attend, you must arrange an alternate time with Mrs. Truty and Ms. Rudis.
