                                                   SUPPORT PROGRAMS
As we all know one of the greatest challenges any school faces is meeting the needs of a
diverse group of students. Here at ICGS we have been working diligently to create a
network of support for both students and teachers in order to address the individual
abilities of every child. It is our goal as a Catholic school to be able to provide a positive
faith formation setting that offers a strong academic program to all students.
The following support structure is in place for this school year:

                                                   READING SUPPORT
Purpose: This program is designed to allow ICGS to differentiate our curriculum in
order to meet the needs of all students. It has been developed to provide both
intervention and enrichment.
Application: Students are identified to be part of these programs through any of the
following considerations:
Intervention Enrichment
- testing results - testing results
- teacher referral - teacher referral
- performance - performance
- ability to work independently
Implementation:
Reading support has been extended this year to include grades 2-5
Reading support is organized as a pull-out instructional session. As a staff we plan
carefully to allow for as little disruption as possible to the school day. The sessions are
held in the Reading Resource Room or in the small focus center of Room 12.
Educators:
Reading Specialist – Mrs. Lynne Lightbody - Type 10 Gifted Certificate
Reading Aide – Mrs. Sandie Novak
